Nick Dudman - Guest Lecture

Next on the docket was Industry legend Nick Dudman, a man of mannnnnyyyy credits.

Nick's first job in the industry was working on a tiny, little film... The Empire Strikes Back. Yep, you read that right. He started on Star Wars, working with the great Stuart Freeborn, and since then went on to work on some of the massive films with the most impressive special effects. The Fifth Element, Batman, Superman II are among his credits, along with being Lead Makeup Designer on the Harry Potter franchise.

In more recent years, he's gone on to work on some high profile TV shows, including Penny Dreadful and Carnival Row. This talk was inspiring, and a great chance for students to hear some of Nicks incredible stories about his career in the industry, as well as get some advice on building their portfolios and how to get started in the industry. We got a behind the scenes look at how some of these amazing film fx were made, and it was awesome to hear about all the projects Nick is involved with at the minute.
